Partial Syllabus
January 7- April 23, 2019 in Logan @ USU. Geomorphic Change Detection will be taught as part of WATS 5150/6150 Fluvial Geomorphology class for matriculated USU students. Undergraduates should register for 5150 and graduates for 6150. The course is focused on understanding the geomorphology of channel change, and we use the geomorphic chagne detection software as a tool for analyzing such processes.

Assignments & Course Materials
All assignments for the GCD portion of fluvial geomorphology will be set and submitted in Canvas.
Instructors:
Joe Wheaton will lead the GCD portion of class. Office Hours: Mondays from 12:30 - 1:20 PM in NR 360
Jack Scmidtt is the lead instructor for Fluvial Geomorphology.
Meeting Time & Place
The course will typically meet in ENGR 206 on:
- Mondays from 1:30 to 5:00
- Wednesdays from 1:30 to 2:30
In general, Jack will lead class on Mondays 1:30 to 2:30ish and Wednesdays 1:30 to 2:30. Whereas, Joe will generally lead the GCD portion of class from 2:30ish to 5:00 on Mondays.
There will also be at least two fieldrips:
- A weekend field trip through Blacksmith Fork River Watershed focusing on Fluvial Taxonomy : March (Date TBD)
- An Extend Field Trip to the Green River and Canyonlands Region : March 29 to April 1
Course Texts
We will rely heavily on the primary literature for course readings. Readingssignments will be set in Canvas, and follow up references will be set . However, we will use one text for this course as a reference on understanding fluvial systems and interpreting geomorphic changes. See
